Steve Watson joined Auldbrass Partners as the Chief Financial Officer / Chief Compliance officer in July 2021.

Steve was formerly a Managing Director of Acres Capital (formerly C-III Capital Partners), a private investment platform, where he oversaw the operational management and the accounting of over $200 million of distressed loans. Before the transaction in 2020, he spent nine years at the private equity firm – C-III Capital Partners as an SVP and Head of Asset Management of the publicly traded REIT (“XAN”) where he was responsible for the credit review of over $2.0 billion in assets. Prior to joining C-III in 2011, Steve spent two years as Chief Financial Officer at Citicare Health Care Center. Prior to Citicare, he spent eleven years at Lehman Brothers as a VP and senior underwriter responsible for structured Bond underwriting. Prior to joining Lehman Brothers, Steve was a Relationship manager for Wells Fargo responsible for originating, underwriting, and structuring commercial loans for public and private developers.

Steve is a licensed NYS CPA and holds an MBA degree from University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business as well as BS degree in Accounting from New York University’s Stern School of Business. Prior to returning to Business school, Steve worked at Polakoff & Michaelson, a Wall Street based CPA firm that focused on Fund audits and Family office services. Additionally, Steve worked as a fund accountant at Dreyfus Financial.
